DISCONAPSE

Disconapse is a new musical experience, formed in the Fox Cities of Wisconsin. The band’s members have been working hard together and crafting their diverse sound, to bring it to live audiences in 2021. Their new EP, ‘progress,’ showcases the band’s unique style, blending elements of melodic indie rock, R&B, and psychedelic soul. The members of the band all have different musical tastes, that jive together organically and exceptionally well. Their freshan album 'into the water' evokes themes of heartbreak, loss and finding confidence in the modern world. The sister record to this album was recorded live at the Appleton Beer Factory shortly after in 2021. 

 

Shannon Fiorello’s voice is one of the group’s strongest essences. Their fluid and intricate melodies, inspired by vocalists like Tash Sultana, and Ela Melo of the band Rainbow Kitten Surprise, have been a standout feature for fans. Disconapse recorded guitarist, Dak Wright is their melodic compliment on guitar, and moved on from the band to another city in 2022. The two weave on record through the band’s sonic landscape, creating intense vibes of tension and release reminiscent of bands like Crumb and Peach Pit. Dak was preceded in his position by the talented Ben Groovin in 2022, joining disconapse in adventures such as Appleton's Mile of Music and sharing the stage with local favorites, Ifdakar.

 

Ben Miller and Mike Brandt, on drums and bass, respectively, provide the groovy backbone of the Disconapse machine. The duo’s dynamic quickly connects with listeners and shifts between aggressive and mellow to everything in between. The song “Halley’s Comet” definitely showcases their ability to manipulate tempos and find the right groove for the right moments within the music. The Disconapse rhythm section is always focused on cross incorporating various genres and accenting the levels of syncopation that highlight the best qualities of the band’s overall sound.

Disconapse looks forward to booking in and out of WI in the future, and is working hard creating a new repertiore of original music and danceable covers for shows and records to come.
